Phyllis P. Kapiloff, 78, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Phyllis P. Kapiloff, 78, died July 12, 2015, at home in Stamford, where she resided for 50 years.

She is survived by her loving husband, Arnold; sons Steven (Erica) and Howard (Merri); grandchildren Arielle, Jonathan, Nathan and Jason; and brother, Bernard (Robin) Passes.

Kapiloff was a co-founder of the Stamford clothing boutique Thru the Garage, which she operated for 20 years.

Active in Democratic politics, Phyllis was appointed to the Stamford Zoning Board and served nearly 14 years, her last seven as chairperson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Temple Sinai, 458 Lakeside Drive, Stamford.
