Gold was born in the Bronx, N.Y., to Leo and Dorothy Alexander and moved to Stamford in 1939, where she grew up. She attended McDowell School of Design in New York City but chose her career as mother and homemaker. She taught swimming and water safety at Stamford High School, the Jewish Center and Camp JayCee. Later she became the director of Camp JayCee.
Gold is survived by her husband, Leonard Gold; children, Richard Gold (Nancy), David Gold (Lynn), and Deborah Gold; sister, Florence Seurig (Karl); and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Agudath Sholom Synagogue Chapel at 301 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford, with interment to follow at Agudath Sholom Cemetery.
