Paula Condos, 85, Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Paula "Pota" Condos, 85, a long-time resident of Stamford, on Sunday, Oct. 4.

She was born in Greece on Aug. 5, 1930, to Peter and Dimitra Kanaras Chafoulias. 

She was the third oldest in a family of six children and grew up in Greece. She then immigrated to the United States at the age of 20 in 1951, where she married and raised her family in Stamford. 

She was a long-time member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Archangels and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. 

She also was an assembler and inspector at Pitney Bowes for over 10 years, through the 1980s and retiring in the early 1990s. 

She is survived by her sons, Harry Condos and Peter Condos and his wife Roberta; her daughter, Tina Condos Zsembik; and four grandchildren, Allison and Sarah Zsembik and Nicholas and Kathleen Condos. 

Also surviving are her sisters, Popi Demakos, Freida Bitzonis and her husband Telly, Helen Chochos, her brother George Lines and his wife Angi; her "adopted" sister Mary Lambrinakos, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Condos in 2011 and her sister Stalla Limberis. 

Family and friends may call at the the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Trisagian service to be held at 7 p.m. 

A procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:10 a.m. on Thursday for a service to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford St.

Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in her memory to the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society or to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford Street.
