STAMFORD, Conn. – Paul Hallowell, 85, died Friday, Feb. 20 at Bridgeport Hospital.
He was born in Amesville, Ohio, Aug. 2, 1929, to the late Mabel and Richard D. Hallowell. He graduated from Newark, Ohio High School and the Institute of Traffic Management in New York City. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, having been assigned to submarine service in New London and the USS. Gilmore in Key West, Fla. His career in the magazine industry began working for Conde Nast Publications and he retired from The New Yorker Magazine.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by one brother.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ann (Caterbone) Hallowell; two sisters in Ohio; and one sister in California.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford.
