Patsy J. Fabricatore, 89, Of Stamford, Sheet Metal Worker, Umpire

STAMFORD, Conn. - Patsy J. Fabricatore of Stamford died Friday, July 4. He was 89.

Fabricatore was born July 14, 1924, the son of Carmella (Zaffino) and Angelo Fabricatore. He was a sheet metal worker and worked for Pomeroy Inc. and Century Fan Co.

After retiring, he worked as a school crossing guard, employed by the Stamford Police Department. He umpired for Stamford Little League, City of Stamford Parks and Rec. League and the A.S.A. Stamford Softball Association. During World War II, he served in the U.S Army-Company D 12th Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the Bronze star for meritorious achievement against the armed enemy in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations. He was discharged in January 1946.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St Augustine Council 41, Stamford Softball Umpires Association, VFW Post 6933 of Noroton and American Legion Post 3 in Stamford.

Fabricatore is survived by his sons, Patsy Jr. (Nadine) and Perry A (Rosanne); daughter, Deborah (Debbie) DeLuca; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Nicholas Fabricatore (Sharon); sister, Marie Porcheddu; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Fabricatore and Carole Mancini; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Jennie (Mancini) Fabricatore; in-laws; and brothers, Dominick, Joseph, and Egidio

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lacerenza Funeral Home . A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Sacred Heart Church. Both are located on Schuyler Avenue in Stamford.
