STAMFORD, Conn. – Nancy Ann Smith-Snell, 79, died Saturday, May 2.
She was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Port Chester, N.Y., the daughter of the late Rev. Samuel T. Smith and Alvedia Thomas Smith. She was married to Robert Snell Sr. of Stamford.
Snell retired from the Stamford Public School System as a teacher's aide.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Snell Sr.; three daughters, the Rev. Dawn C. Snell; Brenda Snell; and Stephanie Snell; two sons, Robert Snell Jr. and William Snell; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Snell was predeceased by eight siblings.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, followed by a service of celebration at 6 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St., Stamford, with the Rev. Dr. Tommie Jackson officiating. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Cemetery, Darien, Connecticut.
Services have been entrusted to the Downer Funeral Home.
