Murry 'Moe' Dienstag, 87, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Murry "Moe" Dienstag died Sunday, Oct. 7, at his home in Stamford. He was 87.

Dienstag was born Aug. 2, 1925. A decorated soldier, Dienstag previously worked as a cutter in New York City's garment district and a pressman and head of the circulation department at The New York Times. He had a quick mind for numbers and a passion for athletics and the outdoors, his family said. He was a fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.

Dienstag is survived by his wife, Trudy; two daughters, Karen and Meryl; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday at Temple Beth El in Stamford. A burial ceremony will follow at the adjacent Beth El Cemetery. Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Stamford is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Beth El or Starfish Connection Inc. An announcement regarding shiva time and place will be made at services.
