Michael Pansini, 86, Of Stamford; Lawyer, War Veteran, Community Volunteer

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Michael S. Pansini, 86, of Stamford, died on Dec. 30, 2014.

Pansini was born in Italy on July 12, 1928, to Ralph and Isabel (nee: Cirillo) Pansini.  The family came to the United States in 1935.

Pansini served in the Army in Korea from 1946-47. He frequently re-told stories of his adventures in the Army, fondly recalling the time he spent serving his country. He received his bachelor's degree, master's of business administration and masters in law - taxation from New York University, He received his law degree from Fordham University in 1956. He was admitted to the Bar Association and the U.S. Tax Court in 1957. He was vice president and corporate counsel for Champion Energy Corp. Prior to that he worked as tax manager for Pfizer Corp.; treasurer, director for United Industrial Corp.; senior vice president tax counsel for Beker Industries Corp, Greenwich, Conn. and president, director of Panmer, Inc. He was vice president, chairman on various committees for the Tax Executive Institute; president, director for Federal Tax Forum, Inc.; and director for Intelligent Business Communications Corp.

In Stamford, he was commissioner, vice chairman for the Economic Development Commission and a member of the Republican Town Committee in the 19th District. He was on the board of directors and treasurer for the Stamford Senior Center and served on the board of directors for the Women's Business Development Center, Inc., the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, and the Smith House Healthcare Center. He also served on the board of directors and as president of the Senior Men's Association, Stamford and North Stamford Association. 

Pansini is survived by his companion, Carol Bull; her children, Robert and Laura; his children, Elizabeth Weld, Valerie Harrington, Michael Pansini, Jr., and Elissa Pansini, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Michael was adored by his siblings Angela Fiorella, Madeline Prior, Louis and Nick Pansini and loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 5, from 2-6 p.m. at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, Inc., 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be held on 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Park Ridge. Interment Brookside Cemetery, Englewood, N.J.
