Michael Docimo, Sr., 86, Police Officer With The City Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. - Michael Docimo, Sr. of Stamford Wednesday, Nov. 20. He was 86.

Docimo was born March 18, 1927, in Greenwich, to Michael and Margaret Infanti Docimo. He was a police officer with the City of Stamford for 22 years before retiring in 1977. Following his retirement as a police officer, he then went on to being a security guard at Pitney Bowes for 13 years. He was also a veteran of World War II, U.S. Marine Corps and the Korean War as a sergeant with the U.S. Army National Guard.

Docimo is survived by his wife, Helen Keeler Docimo of Stamford; children, Michael R. Docimo (Cesidia), Wayne E. Docimo (Cathy) and Troy Docimo all of Stamford; four grandchildren; three great grandsons; and sister, Rosa Curcio of Calif. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Ave., Stamford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Docimo’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105.
