STAMFORD, Conn. -- Michael Curtis Tanner, a Stamford native, died Thursday, Sept. 10. He was 55.
Tanner was son of the late James H. Tanner and Rita Beach Tanner.
He was employed with the city of Bridgeport at the time of his death.
Tanner is survived by his daughter, Nekia Tanner; two stepdaughters, Jenette Waters and Evyette Waters; two grandchildren; two sisters, Janet (Tommy) Davis and Leslie (Jenis) Pegues; one brother, Richard Tanner Sr.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is predeceased by two brothers, James Tanner and Charles Tanner.
Visitation will be at Downer Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 11 a.m.-noon, followed by a service of celebration at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
