Maureen Rebecca Ferrara Higle, 66, Of Stamford, Music Teacher

STAMFORD, Conn. - Maureen Rebecca Ferrara-Higle, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, Dec. 16. She was 66.

Ferrara-Higle was born May 2, 1948, to Vincent James and Marie Cerreta Ferrara. In addition to her 16-year music teaching career at Dolan Middle School, she taught private music lessons throughout her life and was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation for 38 years. She was also active in the Schubert Club of Fairfield County, the Pulmonary Hypertension Group, and the Scleroderma Foundation, among other community groups.

Ferrara-Higle is survived by her sister, Lynn Marie Ferrara-Penachio; step children, Alexander and Heather Higle; nieces and nephew; aunt, uncle; and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Peter Swain Higle.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation on 20 Forest Street in Stamford, with a reception following.
