STAMFORD, Conn. – Mary O. Soltes, 90, of Stamford, died Jan. 27.
She was born in Norwalk Aug. 31, 1924, to the late John Paul and Mary Liptak Soltes. She resided in Stamford for more than 50 years. She was a member of St. Bridget of Ireland Roman Catholic Church since its founding in 1963. She was actively involved in the church and community, including the St. Bridget Counting Team, St. Bridget's Seniors, the OWLS organization and the Glenbrook Seniors.
Besides her parents, Soltes was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Andrew R. Soltes, in 2010.
She is survived by her children, David A. Soltes (JoAnn) of Milford; Andrew J. Soltes, Sr. (Eileen) of New Canaan; Jeffrey C. Soltes of Palm Coast, Fla.; Patricia S. Conte (Ralph) of Wilton; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister and brother in Norwalk; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Friday from 2-6 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget of Ireland Roman Catholic Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford. Interment will be private.
