Mark Denham, 61, Stamford Realtor

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Mark Denham,  a Realtor with William Raveis in Stamford, died Friday, Dec. 26.  

Denham was educated in parochial schools in Shippan Point and graduated from Babson College School of Business in Boston. After graduating, he worked in banking in New York City, and then established Money Ltd., a financial and real estate concern in Stamford.

He and his wife, Polly Robbins Denham, recently celebrated 30 years of marriage. 

The couple moved briefly to Chicago, then settled back into his neighborhood of Shippan.

He was an avid tennis and paddleball player, as well as boating enthusiast. 

Active in the community, Denham served on the board of the Shelter for the Homeless, and for 14 years, served as a police commissioner of Stamford under then-mayor, Dannel Malloy.

In addition to his wife Polly, he is survived by his sons Spencer and Travis; his brother Beau and wife Ginny; sister Moira Denham Hagman and husband George; sister, Tara of New York City; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Eleanor Denham; and his brother, Peter Denham. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Bendheim Cancer Center at Greenwich Hospital  or Shelter for the Homeless, Pacific House.
