Marienne D. Fahey, 92, Teacher At Stamford’s Hart School

DARIEN, Conn. - Marienne D. Fahey of Darien died Thursday, Dec. 5. She was 92.

Fahey was born in Stamford, daughter of Frank J. and Anna O'Neill Healy. She was a graduate of New Haven State Teacher's College, now Southern Connecticut State University. She taught in Stamford at Hart School for two years. After her marriage, she moved to Darien with her husband and lived there for more than 50 years.

Fahey served on the Council of School Parents in Darien and the Women's Auxiliary at St. Joseph Hospital in Stamford. She helped establish the Women's Guild of the newly formed St. Thomas More Parish in Darien and was a member of the committee responsible for designing and building the new church. She was also a longtime member of the Country Club of Darien.

Fahey is survived by her children, Alison Hughes (Robert), Meredith Fahey (Alison Cunningham), Dale-Beth Zaino (Francis), Michael Fahey (Linda), and Gregory Fahey (Rosalyn); sisters-in-law, Frances Healy and Lillian Healy; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Bartley A. Fahey; sister, Lois Dyas; and brothers Frank Healy and William Healy.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.

Memorial contributions may be made in Fahey's name to St. Thomas More Church, Darien, or to a charity of one's choice.
