Marie Geraldine Maher, 89, Of Stamford, Teacher For Stamford School System

STAMFORD, Conn. - Marie Geraldine Maher of Stamford died June 27. She was 89.

Maher was born March 6, 1924, in Stamford; daughter of Helena (Brennan) and Jeremiah Maher. Her early childhood was spent in Stamford and Washington D.C.. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy,  New Haven Teacher's College and Fairfield University. She taught in the Stamford School System for over 30 years, ending as assistant principal of Roxbury School.

Maher is survived by numerous cousins and some very close friends.

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 2 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Leo P Gallagher & Son Funeral Home , 2900 Summer St., Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2 at St. Mary R. C. Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford immediately following the visitation. Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery, Darien.
