Marie Deragon, 91, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Marie A. Deragon, a Stamford resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 5. She was 91.

Deragon was born April 17, 1924, in Stamford . She was a former employee of Pitney Bowes, where she met her husband. She also was a teacher's assistant with the Stamford Public Schools for more than 20 years, a member of the St. Gabriel RC Church Senior Circle and the church's prayer line. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and knitted scarves and hats for the needy. 

Deragon was predeceased by her husband Harry J. Deragon and sister Ann Summa.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Belmont and her longtime companion George Talboys of Stamford, Mary Waterbury and her husband Ralph of Oxford, Conn., Vincent Deragon and his partner Michael LeViness of Yonkers, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel RC Church, 914 Newfield Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8.
