Marguerite Kieran Munger, 73, Of Stamford, Worked As Office Manager

STAMFORD, Conn. - Marguerite “Marge” Kieran Munger of Stamford died Thursday, May 23. She was 73.

Munger was born May 1, 1940, in Norwalk to John V. and Lucy Hall Kieran. She was a graduate of Lauralton Hall in Milford. She attended Marymount College, in Tarrytown, N.Y. and finished her schooling at The Wood School in New York City.

Before marriage she was an executive secretary at CBS Laboratories in Stamford. She traveled with her husband for six years. The family returned to Connecticut in 1976 and settled in Stamford. She was a former PTA president of Roxbury School, a Cub Scout Den mother, former co-chair of the Alzheimer’s Fundraising Committee, a former Adult Leader of St. Leo Youth Group, a eucharistic minister and Parish Council member of St. Leo Parish, a member of the City of Stamford’s Commission on Aging, and the Soup Kitchen Coordinator for St. Leo Parish. She had worked as the office manager for Dr. Bruce Baron, for 33 years.

Munger is survived by her husband, Christopher Munger; daughter, Colleen Munger Tuozzolo (Scott), of Newark, Del.; sons, Christopher J. Munger of Stamford, Michael P. Munger of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Bryan K. Munger (Jennifer), of Stamford; eight grandchildren; sisters, Marylou Kieran Bohn of Milford, Elaine Kieran Gallery (Walter), of Milton, Mass., Eileen Kieran Miller (Doug), of Vero Beach, Fla., and Kathleen Munger Truino (Tony), of Naples, Fla.; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.

Calling hours are Tuesday, May 28 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902. A funeral procession will be leaving Wednesday, May 29 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Munger’s memory to the J.B.I. Foundation, PO Box 4484, Stamford, CT 06907 for the care of Riley Perna.
