STAMFORD, Conn. - Margaret Wyckoff Platten of Stamford, former longtime Darien resident,  died Nov. 5. She was 95.

Platten was born Sept. 25, 1918, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William W. Wyckoff of East Orange, N.J. She was a graduate of Wellesley College. She had been a resident of Darien for 46 years. She served as a trustee and Board member of: League of Women Voters, Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center, Darien Community Association, Wellesley College Durant Society, Noroton Presbyterian Church (where she led a children's choir for 17 years), and New York Historical Society. Her husband was the former chairman of Chemical Bank, and as the wife of a bank executive, she represented the bank in the U.S. and abroad, helping to open many Chemical Bank branches and offices worldwide. Her first business trip was to Israel, in 1960.

Platten is survived by her children, Katherine Platten Tyson (John), Peter Wyckoff Platten (Mary June), Alison Platten Vanderbilt (Alfred); seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Donald Campbell Platten.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Horton Scholarship Fund at Noroton Presbyterian Church or the College Scholarship Fund at the Darien Community Association.
