M. Pauline Whitehead, 86, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – M. Pauline Whitehead, 86, of Stamford, died Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Stamford Hospital.

She was born in Darien on April 1, 1929, to Frederick and Stephanie Schriber. She was a radiology technician at Stamford Hospital for many years before her retirement. She was an avid UConn women's basketball fan as well as a season ticket holder to the New York Giants. She also loved to watch the New York Mets.

She is survived by her children, Susan John (Richard) of New Canaan; Nancy Dunleavy (Martin) of Trumbull; Robert Whitehead, Jr. (Kathleen) of Stamford; and Edward Whitehead of Stamford; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert M. Whitehead, Sr., in July 1998, and one sister.

Family and friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford. A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 279 Atlantic St., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic St., Stamford, CT 06902.
