Louise Young, 67, Teacher, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Louise Ann Young of Stamford died Monday, Sept. 17, at Stamford Hospital. She was 67. 

Young was born Oct. 21, 1944, in Yonkers, N.Y., to Anthony and Dorothy Mallozzi Brandi. She graduated from Holy Child High School in Harrison, N.Y., and Good Counsel College, now Pace University. She taught first grade in the New York City public school system. 

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Wills Young; a daughter, Heather Anne Young, of Stamford; a son, Phillip Wills Young, of Needham, Mass.; a brother, Frank Brandi, of Moline, Ill.; and her mother, Dorothy Brandi, of Harrison. She was predeceased by her father, Anthony Brandi.  

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bosak Funeral Home in Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Stamford, with the Rev. Edward R. Surwilo officiating. Burial will be held privately at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714.
