MADISON, Conn. - Louis P. Chiappetta of Madison died Sunday, Nov. 17. He was 97.

Chiappetta was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Stamford. He served with the U. S. Navy's amphibious forces in World War II. Prior to his military service and following his discharge, he worked at MarLe Company, an electrical wholesaler, in Stamford where he rose to become general manager. He retired in 1992. In 1998, he and his wife, Lena moved to Madison. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2096, in Madison.

Chiappetta is survived by his son, Louis (Katherine); daughter, Patricia Thal (Eric); two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his wife, Lena.

Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. He will be buried besides his wife in West Cemetery in Madison Friday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to North Madison Volunteer Fire Company , 864 Opening Hill Road, Madison or to the Madison Food Pantry , Madison.
