STAMFORD, Conn. Lewis J. Belmont, a former Stamford resident, died June 10 at his home in Naples, Fla. He was 92.
Born May 2, 1920, in Stamford, he was the son of Gus and Carrie Herman Belmont. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II as an electrician's mate. After the war, Belmont went to work for his father at Belmont Electric in Stamford for 40 years. An avid golfer, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Amelia.
Belmont is survived by his son, Lewis A. Belmont; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Lopez and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Amelia Andrea Belmont.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Cemetery in Darien, with the Rev. James Grosso officiating. Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home in Stamford is assisting the family with arrangements.
