STAMFORD, Conn. – Leonard "Charlie" Allinger, a longtime Stamford resident, died Oct. 6 after a battle with gallbladder cancer. He was 83.
An Army veteran, Allinger worked as a tool and die maker early in his life before operating Allinger Machine Company with his son for more than 30 years.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lacerenza Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Stamford. A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Woodson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067, or the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Ave., Norwalk, CT 06857.
