Leona Maffei DeLeo, 82, Lifelong Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. - Leona Maffei DeLeo, a lifelong Stamford resident, died May 25. She was 82.

DeLeo was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Stamford, to Philip and Anna Pironto Maffei. She worked many years as the office manager of Roberts Oldsmobile in Stamford as well as the Greenwich Municipal Credit Union.

DeLeo is survived by her husband, William F. DeLeo; daughters, Cynthia DeLeo Kapteina (Barry) of Stamford, Jayne DeLeo Bakis (Tom) of Stamford, Billie DeLeo Schock (Rick) of Stamford, Patricia Ann DeLeo Vakos (Paul) of Hamden; son, Stephen DeLeo (Tammy) of Norwalk; a lifelong family friend, Alberta Vitti Bove of Stamford;  a “fifth daughter” Catherine Mary Jost of Stamford; and 11 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Joseph P. Maffei.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 1 at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PTTP Golf, a Stamford Hospital Foundation, 708 West Hill Road Stamford, CT 06902-1433.
