STAMFORD, Conn. -- Laura Procaccini Sabia, 97, of Stamford, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday July 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Sabia was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Darien, to the late Antonio and Rosario Maria DeRosa Procaccini.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Ferrara of Stamford and her two granddaughters, Lori Ferrara of Stamford and Nancy Ferrara-Horta and her husband Jorge Horta of Naugatuck.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Patsy J. Sabia, her son Patsy T. Sabia, her son-in-law Paul C. Ferrara, brothers Serfina Procaccini and Frank Procaccini and her sister Angie Seaman.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford at 10 a.m. Friday and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.. Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery, Darien.
Family and friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
