STAMFORD, Conn. - Kimberly Klayer Hart, 36, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Sunday, May 31, after a long battle with brain cancer.

She was born Feb. 7, 1979, to Robert E. and Mary Gay Gillespie Hart of Stamford.

Hart earned a bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University in 2001.

While employed and undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments, she completed the requirements for a master's degree in health administration.

She was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church.

She also volunteered in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Survivors in addition to her parents include her brother, Christopher R. Hart of Boston; two aunts, Elsie Hart and Barbara Bartram; an uncle, Jack Hart; and several cousins.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1101 Bedford St., Stamford.

Entombment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center, 30 Shelburne Road, Stamford, CT 06902.
