Karen DeBartolo, 71, Of Stamford, General Manager, United Tobacco Company

STAMFORD, Conn. - Karen B. DeBartolo of Stamford died 19 Nov. She was 71.

DeBartolo was born Feb. 26, 1943, in Stamford. In addition to attending the London School of Economics, she was a graduate of Drew University and received her Master's Degree from Iona College. She worked as a research economist and an officer of Dunlap and Associates for over 25 years; and was the general manager of the family business, United Tobacco Company, for over 10 years. She was a member and served on the Board Of Directors of both Sterling Farms Golf Club and Hubbard Heights Golf Club; as well as serving on the State of Connecticut Course Rating Team.

DeBartolo is survived by her husband, Joseph; and sister, Jeanne B. Reinhard. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Louis Bratsenis; and brother, George L. Bratsenis.

Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, (next to Knights of Columbus) 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at St. Bridget Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford. The family would like friends to share in the celebration of her life after Mass in the St. Bridget Church Hall.
