Joyce Eugenia Edwards, 75, Longtime Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Joyce Eugenia Edwards, 75, a longtime resident of Stamford, died Saturday, May 30, at Greenwich Hospital.

Edwards was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Sept. 11, 1939, to Conrad and Matilda Kydd. She worked at Stamford Hospital until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Vivian Edwards; four children, Irvin Kydd, Velma Edwards, Susan Edwards-Jacobs and Cloreth Edwards-McCalla; her sisters, Urcel Bernard, Angela Hull and Maureen Greenridge; seven grandchildren, Itibah Kydd, Steven Smith, Kaila Jacobs, Jordan Jacobs, Jada Jacobs, Serena McCalla and Dylan McCalla; her sisters-in-law, Josephine Edwards and Caroline Archibald; her daughter-in-law, Candan Joseph-Kydd; and her sons-in-law, Basil Jacobs and Derron McCalla.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Suseth Edwards.

Visitation will be at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at House of Restoration Church of God, 63 Stillwater Ave., Stamford.

Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Stamford.
