STAMFORD, Conn. -- Joseph Henry Thomas III passed away Sept. 9 after a brief illness. He was 89.
He was the son of Joseph and Mary Thomas Jr.
Thomas, a U.S. Navy veteran, worked for IBM for many years, raising through the ranks to the executive level. He is well known in Stamford as the co-founder and past president of the North Stamford Little League and past president of the Stamford Parent Teacher Council. He also supported many humanitarian and animal welfare organizations, including the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.
He is survived by his wife Eunice Thomas; a brother, Richard (Shirley); two sons, Brett Thomas (Kathleen) and Kent Thomas (Susan); and by his grandchildren Alexander, Zachary and Jennie Thomas.
He was predeceased by his brothers James and Walter Thomas.

There will be a reception from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday and the family will receive relatives and friends Saturday at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., with a memorial service at noon.
