John Nalty, 86, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- John Edward Nalty, better known as "Jack," 86, of Stamford, formerly of San Jose, Calif., died, Oct. 31.

The son of the late John Raymond Nalty and Marguerite Nalty, he graduated from San Jose University and spent the next 38 years teaching.

He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Kathleen Butier Nalty; son Paul Nalty; son-in-law, Scott Clark; and sister Jane Nalty Berger.

Nasty is survived by his son Sean Nalty; daughter Elaine Nalty Clark; daughters-in-law's Carol and Margaret, seven grandchildren, Caitlin and Nicole Nalty, Kathleen, John, Mary and Anne Clark, and John Paul Nalty; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gabriel Parish, 914 Newfield Ave. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to Our Lady of Grace St. Vincent DePaul, 3433 Somerset Avenue, Castro Valley CA, 94546.
