John Marshall, Of Stamford, 70

STAMFORD, Conn. -- John H. Marshall of Stamford, formerly of Harrison, N.Y., died on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at age 70.

Marshall was born in Port Chester, N.Y., to the late Frederick L. Marshall Jr. and Helen (nee Hay) Marshall.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany from 1965 to 1967.

Later, Marshall worked as a truck driver and was a member of Teamsters Local 456. Marshall also owned a maintenance business that serviced New York Telephone properties from New York City to Albany.

He was an active member of Stamford Elks Lodge 899, Stamford GAC and American Legion Post 90 in Mamaroneck, N.Y.

In his youth, he was a member of the Harrison Volunteer Fire Dept. Hook & Ladder Company and a member of the Freemasons and the Stamford Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (nee Baird), his son, John Jr. (wife Rose), stepchildren Kim and Todd Spinelli and Bob Degina. He is also survived by his brother, Frederick L. Marshall III (wife Rita), his sister, Katherine H. "Runt" Frattarola (husband Robert), and five grandchildren. Also surviving him are his in-laws, Bill Baird, Mary Anne Kennedy, Laura Karwosky (David) and Bonnie Sanchez (Sanch); he also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

To honor his life, family will receive friends on Friday from 4 p.m. to  8 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home at 767 East Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck. Phone: 914-698-5968.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Harrison Presbyterian Church, followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, N.Y.
