John J. Cyboski, Sr., 70, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – John J. Cyboski, Sr., 70, of Stamford, died Monday, May 18, at Stamford Hospital.

He was born Nov. 2, 1944, in Stamford to Joseph M. Jr. and Dorothy M. Burke Cyboski. He was employed as a sheet metal worker for the Local 38 in Brewster, New York, until his retirement in 2003. He was also a member of the Stamford Power Squadron and a veteran in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Susan C. Tompkins Cyboski; his children Monique S. Cyboski, John J. Cyboski, Jr. and Nicole K. Cyboski, all of Stamford; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

Family and friends may call Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.

A funeral procession will leave funeral home Friday, May 22, at 10:40 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Cyboski’s memory to the Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, 761 Main Ave., Norwalk, Conn., 06851 or to a charity of one’s choice.
