Jennie Mary Moavero, 97, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jennie Mary Moavero, 97, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Saturday, June 13.

She was born in Stamford Jan. 1, 1918, to Frank and Valeria Rekoz Rekos. She was a very active former member of Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. She was also a former employee of Clairol Inc. of Stamford.

She is survived by her two sons Edward V. Moavero Jr. (Joanne) of Stamford; and Michael F. Moavero (Rosemarie) of New York; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Moavero was predeceased by her husband, Edward Vincent Moavero; her brother Theodore Rekos, her three sisters, Theresa Telesco, Gladys Telesco, and Helen Battinelli and a grandson.

Visitation is Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Tuesday, at 9:45 a.m. and proceed to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Smith House Health Care Center, 88 Rockrimmon Road, Stamford, CT 06903.
