Jean Dedura, 99, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jean Dedura, 99, of Stamford, died Monday, June 15.

Born in Stamford June 8, 1916, she was one of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brzoska. Growing up, her family spent most of her upbringing on a farm in upstate Connecticut. When she returned to Stamford, she met and married Edward Dedura, and they started a family of their own.

She worked for many years cleaning houses in the Stamford area and grew close to many of her customers – even caring for their children. In her later years, she loved to play cards and bingo with her sister and friends, enjoyed cooking and baking, and spending time with her family. She was also a past parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Stamford.

Dedura is survived by her children, Edward Dedura (Diana) of Prescott, Arizona; Debbie Pirre (Al) of Ansonia, Connecticut; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son, Gary Dedura, and eight siblings.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford.

A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:40 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 325 Washington Blvd., Stamford.

Interment will immediately follow at St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery in Darien.
