STAMFORD, Conn. - Janet Marion Weiss of Stamford died Oct. 4. She was 95.
Weiss was born July 3, 1918, in Providence, RI, to Fannie Goldman Mitchnick and Meyer Mitchnick, she grew up in Far Rockaway, Queens, and lived in Stamford since 1954. She began her career at Jacobi Hospital as a psychiatric social worker and later had a practice as a sex therapist. At 70, she obtained her masters from Goddard College.
Weiss is survived by her sons, Jeff (Mary Jo), Alan (Susan), and Mitch (Martha); four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Sidney Weiss; and her second husband, Lenny Levine.
A service in celebration of Weiss's life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at Leo P Gallagher and Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer St., Stamford.
