James Riley, 81, Of Stamford, Retired Foreman For Pitney Bowes

STAMFORD, Conn. - James “Jimmy” Riley of Stamford died Sunday, July 7. He was 81.

Riley was born May 28, 1932, in Spring Valley, N.Y., to Lloyd and Catherine Riley. He was a foreman at Pitney Bowes for 21 years before his retirement and was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Navy.

Riley is survived by his wife, Kathleen Donohue Riley of Stamford; sons, Kevin Riley of Bethel, Gary Riley of New York; brother, Johnny Riley of New York; four grandchildren; a great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Richie, Lloyd, Catherine, Marion and Janet.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Thursday, July 11 at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Riley’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
