James Paul Sheehan, 82, Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford resident James Paul Sheehan died Sunday, Feb. 7. He was 82.

Born in Ireland, Sheehan immigrated to the United States in 1958. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a radar technician. He became an electrician and was self-employed for WADE Electric Co. for 30 years. During his career, Sheehan was proud to work on the Statue of Liberty and Shea Stadium.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Kerry; and his siblings, Patrick, Tommy Joe, Rita and Eileen.

Sheehan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cathy; daughters Aileen and her husband, Wayne, and Diane and her husband, Eugene; brother Tim; grandchildren Dylan, Caitrin, Tyler and Seamus; and mother-in-law Margaret.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 10 at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., next to the Knights of Columbus in Stamford. A Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at St. Gabriel Church, 914 Newfield Ave., Stamford. Burial will be private.
