James E. Baskin Jr., 86, Of Stamford, Army Veteran, Retired Postal Employee

STAMFORD, Conn. - James E. Baskin Jr., 86, of Stamford, died Thursday, May 7.

He was born May 13, 1928, in Camden, S.C., to James E. Baskin Sr. and Viola Cunningham Baskin.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army. Baskin was also a retired U.S. Postal Service employee.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Baskin-Morgan (Michael) and Kilty Baskin; two stepdaughters, Lanisha Taylor and Eian Bowden; four brothers, Johnel Baskin, Joseph (Shirley) Baskin, Kenneth Baskin, and Leonard (Juanita) Baskin; two sisters, Ethel Baskin Williams and Gloriaetta Baskin Summons; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

His son, Tony Bennett; brother, Leroy Baskin; and sister, Odessa Baskin Porter, preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 14, at the Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Stamford.

Funeral services will be noon Thursday at the Union Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert W. Perry will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main St., Westport.
