STAMFORD, Conn. -- James "Jim" C. Galt, of Stamford, a retired businessman and teacher, has died at the age of 95.
Born in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Gladys Galt. In 1941, he graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. with a B.S in physical education.
He served as an ensign in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater in World War II. For 30 years, he was a management development instructor at IBM, where he worked until retirement, then taught business management full time at Iona College for several years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen E. Galt, two brothers and a sister.
He is survived by two daughters, Joan Galt of Anchorage and Barbara Galt and husband Michael Wilson of Stamford; two sons, James C. "Chris" Galt Jr. and wife Helen of North Caldwell, N.J. and David Galt of Branford; two granddaughters, Eleanor Galt-Lin and husband James "Jimmy" Lin of North Caldwell, N.J. and Kalie Wilson of Greenwich; two grandsons, Gordon Pullar Jr. of Anchorage and Kyle Wilson of Westport, and great-grandchildren Alexandra and Jordan Lin of North Caldwell, N.J.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
