STAMFORD, Conn. - Jack D. Campbell of Stamford died Monday, April 7. He was 69.

Campbell was born July 4, 1944, in Grey Court (Laurens County), S.C., and was the son of Alex Goodjoin and Lucille Campbell. He was a graduate of Sanders High School in Laurens, S.C. Following his graduation, he relocated to Stamford in 1963, where he resided for 51 years.

Campbell worked as a receiving clerk at Bonnie Doone, Inc. and as a security guard at American Cyanamid (Cytec Industries, Inc.), Consolidated Diesel, Inc. and Guardsmark, Inc. Upon retiring from Guardsmark, Inc. in 2009, he was employed as a security officer by the Stamford Housing Authority for the Margot H. Wormser Congregate Housing for the Elderly in Stamford.

He was a member of Union Baptist Church for the past 21 years and was a member of the men's choir.

Campbell is survived by his sisters, Robertha Joyner (Donnie) of Stamford and Reverend Synethia Epps of Stratford; brother, Willie L. Campbell of Stamford; many nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Dorothy E. Campbell; brothers, Walter Robinson and Ernest Campbell; and brother-in-law, Joseph A. Epps.

Calling hours are from Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Union Baptist Church followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. Robert W. Perry officiating. Interment will follow at the Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Ave., Darien.
