STAMFORD, Conn. - Isabella Ada Catino of Stamford died Sunday, Sept. 1. She was 87.
Catino was born April 14, 1926, in San Mango sul Calore, Italy, to Teodoro and Enrichetta Maria Uva. She immigrated to the U.S in 1954, travelling on the Andrea Doria. She was very active in the San Manghese Social Club.
Catino is survived by her daughters, Enrichetta I. Capozziello (David) of Fairfield, Mary C. Ressler (Gregg) of Shelton; five grandchildren; sisters, Giuseppa Uva Catino, Rosinella Fraschetti, Teresa Marena; brothers, Teodoro Uva (Caterina) and Vittorio Uva (Leondina); many nieces, nephews; and sisters and brothers-in-law. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ciriaco Catino; grandson, Gregory; and brothers, Tommaso and Raffaele Uva.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Thursday, Sept. 5 at 9:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
