Henry Warner, 82, Of Stamford, Self-Employed Painting Contractor

STAMFORD, Conn. - Henry "Bud" Warner, a longtime resident of Stamford, died Friday July, 11. He was 82.

Warner was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Stamford, the son of Harry and Elizabeth (Cramer) Warner. He was employed at Sears & Roebucks and Wises Paint and was self-employed as a painting contractor for many years.

He was drafted in 1952 and served in the Korean War as a staff sergeant. He was a charter member of the VFW Post 9617 of Stamford. He was the chairman of the Poppy Committee and volunteer for Toys for Tots.

Warner is survived by his children, Sharon Sarantos (Peter), Donna Parent and Ralph Parillo; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are Monday, July 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, Summer St., Stamford. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, July 15, at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Poppy Organization, which donates funds for disabled, sick and needy veterans and their families, or to the VFW Post 9617 in Stamford.
