Helen Aloupis, 84, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. - Helen Aloupis, 84, of Stamford died on Sunday, Dec. 28.

Aloupis was born in Skoura, Greece, on March 12, 1930 to the late Leonidas and Panagiota Koumourdas Yonclas. She emigrated from Greece in 1951.

She began work at Paper Novelty Co. and Yale & Towne and later retired from Baldwin Technology. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, being involved with the Church of the Archangels and the Church Senior Group and going on excursions to Mohegan Sun Casino.

She is survived by her sons, William Aloupis of New Canaan and Leo Aloupis of Stamford; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Costas Aloupis; a brother, Christos Gianouklas; and two sisters Sophia Kakaletris and Georgia Agnastopoulos.

Call hours at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, are on Friday, Jan. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford St. in Stamford at 10 a.m.. Internment will be private.
