Hector Luis Guzman, 70, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Hector Luis Guzman, 70, of Stamford, died Friday, June 26 at Stamford Hospital.

He was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Feb. 11, 1945 and was one of 14 children born to the late Maria Alvarez and Francisco Guzman.

He spent his early years in Puerto Rico and came to the U.S. in 1963. He eventually settled in Stamford, where he met and married his wife, Aida Robles, and where he worked as a machinist, tool and die maker, and as an auto mechanic after hours. He loved to fish, take rides to the beach with his wife to feed the birds, and to spend time with his wife and family.

Guzman is survived by his wife of 47 years, Aida Robles Guzman; his two daughters, Mugette Boccuzzi (Pat) and Maureen Vega; five grandchildren; siblings in Puerto Rico and the U.S.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Guzman family will receive the condolences and sympathy of friends and family Tuesday, June 30 from 4-8 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday, July 1 at 11 a.m. for the interment at Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Ave. in Darien, Connecticut.
