Harry Terfenko, 87, Stamford Bartender

STAMFORD, Conn. – Harry Neil Terfenko of Stamford died Sunday, Sept. 23, at home. He was 87. 

Born Feb. 4, 1925, in Ansonia, he was the son of Peter and Mary Terfenko. He worked as head bartender at Woodway Country Club in Darien, where he was employed for 35 years. 

A parishioner of St. Vladimir's Cathedral in Stamford, Terfenko found solace in his faith toward the end of his life, his family said. 

He is survived by a niece, Carol Mott, of Stamford. Terfenko was predeceased by his wife, Madeline Stevens Terfenko, in 2007; and a sister, Anne Mott, in 1989. 

A graveside service will be held privately at a later date. Bosak Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
