Mariano was born April 1, 1919, in Stamford, to Peter and Katherine McDonnell Passaro. She lived in Florida for many years, moving in 1976 before returning to Stamford in 1998.
Mariano is survived by three children, Barbara Calyanis of Stamford, Karen Kovacs of Bernardsville, N.J. and Michael John Mariano of Stratford; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Michael John Mariano; two sisters; and three brothers. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday June 24 at St. Cecilia RC Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT 06905, Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT is in charge with the arrangements.
