STAMFORD, Conn. – Harold K. Harris Sr., 84, of Stamford, died Thursday, Oct. 22.
He was born Dec. 11, 1930, in Stamford, the son of the late James and Margaret Harris. He graduated from the Progressive School of Beauty Culture under the directorship of Hattie P. Clayburn.
He is survived by five daughters, Elaine Miller, Valarna Harris, Tyra Debroux (William), Cynthia Lewis Harris and Wardelle Holman (Greg); five sons, Gerald Grant, Harold "Dutz" K. Harris, Jr. (Susan), Darge Harris and Aaron Harris; one sister; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dallas Miller Harris; a son, Richard Grant; and six siblings.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, followed by a service of celebration at noon at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave. Stamford, with the Rev. Dr. Robert W. Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park.
Services have been entrusted to the Downer Funeral Home.
