GloriaJean Ferris, 71, Stamford Hairdresser

STAMFORD, Conn. – GloriaJean Santarsiero Ferris, a longtime Stamford hairdresser, died Monday, Dec. 3, after a 16-month battle with cancer. She was 71.

Ferris was born Oct. 28, 1941, to Victor Santarsiero and Marion Bottomly Santarsiero Giordano. She graduated from Stamford High School and J.M. Wright Technical School for hairdressing.

A hairdresser for 50 years, Ferris previously worked at Vincent & Richards Salon, Studio 1074, George's Barbers and, most recently, The New Crescent Salon. She also worked as a bookkeeper at Metro-Roofing for many years.

She loved line dancing, photography, going to the movies and being at Cummings Beach along the channel with her son and her family.

Ferris is survived by her longtime companion, Leo Ramsay; her stepfather, Rep. Philip J. Giordano; her former husband, Robert "Dobber" (Vicky) Ferris; two aunts; an uncle; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Teddy "T.J." Milone; and a brother, Richard (Debra) Santarsiero Sr.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford. Lacerenza Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Stamford handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Association of the Blind and Branford Connecticut Hospice.
