Ryan was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Stamford, to Francis F. and Sarah S. Watson. She was a member of St. Leo Parish from 1963 to 1972 and St. Cecelia Parish from 1972 to 2000. She worked with her husband at Lakeside Diner, his place of business, in the 1960’s. She was an employee of Pitney Bowes from 1977 to 1987.
Ryan is survived by her children, James M. Ryan, Jr. of Dunnellon, Fla., Lynn E. Ryan of Norwalk and Mary R. Vlandis of Lynchburg, Va.; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James M. Ryan; and siblings, Margaret Watson LaCroix, Catherine Watson Black, Frances Watson Strickman, Eleanor Watson Doyle, Cecilia Watson Gillan, William Joseph Watson, Ann Rita Watson Troutman, Frank Watson and James Watson. Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Norwalk’s Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. in St. Jerome Church, Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Darien.
