Giuseppe was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Minturno, Italy, to Stefano and Angela Vento Fortuna. Livia was born Dec. 12, 1928, in Santa Fiora ,Italy, to Giovanni and Geltrude Franceschi.
Giuseppe was employed at Clairol as a clamp truck operator and Livia was also employed at Clairol as a production line worker for many years before they retired. Giuseppe also was a former employee of Paul Bacco & Son Construction and was a member of the Minturnese Club.
The Fortunas are survived by their children; daughters, Giuliana DiGeronimo (Lorenzo) of Brooklyn, N.Y., Angela Munzenmaier (Fred) of Atlanta, Ga.; and son, John Fortuna (Veronica) of Monroe, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Giuseppe is survived by his sister Josephine Palumbo of Stamford. The were predeceased by their parents; and son, Steve Fortuna.
Calling hours are Thursday, Dec. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Friday, Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s RC Cemetery, Greenwich.
